Mit dem sechsten Langeisen "To Rid Myself of Truth", erfinden die Pennsylvania Heavyweights SIGNS OF THE SWARM das Deathcore-Rad sicherlich nicht neu, ziehen aber definitiv einen derben und facettenreichen Style an Deck. Ein tonnenschwerer Hagel aus Dissonanzen, Breakdowns, Timebending, Math Metal-, Industrial- und Slam-Einflüssen, prasselt ab der Startrille auf die geneigte Hörerschaft hernieder. Mal etwas progressiver, mal etwas straighter kämpfen sich die Extrem Metal Connaisseurs hierbei durch ihren komplexen und ausgeklügelten Avantgarde Deathcore. Permanente Twists in Pace und Power sorgen für die nötige Kurzweil, der sich SIGNS OF THE SWARM zu Beginn ihrer verheißungsvollen Karriere im Jahre 2014 verschrieben haben. Mit Gastauftritten von Will Ramos (LORNA SHORE) bei "Clouded Retinas", Phil Bozeman (WHITECHAPEL) beim anschließenden "Iron Sacrament", sowie Jack Murray (156 SILENCE) und Johnny Crowder (PRISON) beim zehnten Track "Fear & Judgment", hat sich das Pittsburgh Deathcore Squad ein paar Perlen des weitläufigen Genres mit ins Boot geholt.
In 40:01 Minuten ballern uns SIGNS OF THE SWARM elf großkalibrige Deathcoregeschosse um die Ohren, die ihren soundtechnischen Feinschliff erneut von Grandseigneur Josh Schroeder (LORNA SHORE, BUTCHER BABIES) an der elektronischen Werkbank erhielten. Mit interessanten, exaltiert verpackten elektronischen Spielereien und Frequenzverwerfungen upgegradet, bläst das US-Deathcore-Quartett zur polyrhythmischen Apokalypse. Während sich Lead Vocalist David Simonich mit seinem vielschichtig dargebotenem, grobschlächtigen bis wütenden Deathcore-Growling und -Grunting, sowie seinem garstigen bis galligen Dwarf-Gezeter ordentlich die Gurgel zerraspelt, setzt die gesamte Rhythmusfraktion trotz dynamisch pushender Strukturen, häufig auf erstklassig arrangierte verquere Rhythmen. Wildgewordene und schräge Gitarrenläufe geben sich mit anspruchsvollen Auswüchsen die Klinke in die Hand. Disharmonie reiht sich an Diaharmonie, wahrlich ausufernd bis hin zur Synkopierung. In dem komplexen Soundgeschehen, das "To Rid Myself of Truth" seinem Auditorium bietet, gilt es immer wieder Neues zu entdecken. Mit diesen Stützpfeilern haben Gitarrist Carl Schulz, Bassaxtschwinger Michael Cassese und Drummer Bobby Crow für einen enorm divergierenden Aufbau innerhalb der wuchtigen und bassbefeuerten Kompositionen gesorgt.

With their sixth full-length "To Rid Myself of Truth", Pennsylvania heavyweights SIGNS OF THE SWARM certainly don't reinvent the deathcore wheel, but they definitely bring a raw and multifaceted style to the table. A tons heavy hail of dissonances, breakdowns, timebending, math metal, industrial, and slam influences rains down on the appreciative audience from the opening groove. At times progressive, at times more straightforward, these extreme metal connoisseurs battle their way through their complex and sophisticated avantgarde deathcore. Constant twists in pace and power provide the necessary diversion to which SIGNS OF THE SWARM dedicated themselves at the beginning of their promising career in 2014. With guest appearances from Will Ramos (LORNA SHORE) on "Clouded Retinas", Phil Bozeman (WHITECHAPEL) on the following "Iron Sacrament", as well as Jack Murray (156 SILENCE) and Johnny Crowder (PRISON) on the tenth track "Fear & Judgment", the Pittsburgh Deathcore Squad has brought a few gems of the expansive genre on board.
In 40:01 minutes, SIGNS OF THE SWARM blast us with eleven large-caliber deathcore missiles, which once again received their technical sonic polish from grand seigneur Josh Schroeder (LORNA SHORE, BUTCHER BABIES) at the electronic workbench. Upgraded with interesting, exuberantly packaged electronic gadgets and frequency distortions, the US deathcore quartet blasts to a polyrhythmic apocalypse. While lead vocalist David Simonich tears his throat to pieces with his multi-layered, crude to furious deathcore growling and grunting, as well as his nasty to bilious dwarf ranting, the entire rhythm section, despite dynamically pushing structures, frequently relies on superbly arranged, twisted rhythms. Wild and obliquely guitar runs follow one another with sophisticated excesses. Disharmony follows diaharmony, truly sprawling to the point of syncopation. In the complex soundscape that "To Rid Myself of Truth" offers its audience, there's always something new to discover. With these pillars, guitarist Carl Schulz, bass axe player Michael Cassese, and drummer Bobby Crow have ensured a tremendously divergent structure within the powerful, bass-driven compositions.
