Das sechste Extrem-Eisen "COME", der deutschen Avantgarde Black Metaller DARK MILLENNIUM, ergründet den physischen, metaphysischen und illusorischen Sinnestaumel veränderter Bewusstseinszustände. Der Zuhörer soll in auditive Welten entführt werden, in die er sich immersiv fallen lassen kann. Das Ergebnis ist ein progressives, abnormes und verschrobenes Experimental Darkened Down- bis Midtempo Post Black Metal Album, das rein vom instrumentellen Aspekt her gesehen, bisweilen ein wenig an THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT erinnert. Das 1991 gegründete Quintett aus Bad Fredeburg, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, durchlebt facettenreiche, manisch hypnotisierende Dark Horror Dynamiken, besinnt sich aber immer wieder auf seine experimentierfreudige Grundhaltung. Mit ihren regelrecht rituellen Industrial/Doom/Sludge Klängen erzeugen DARK MILLENNIUM eine bedrückende, manchmal auch regelrecht konfuse Atmosphäre.
Acht sonderbar verquere Post Black Metal Agonien, die mal zwischen stoischen, mal leidgeplagten Pfaden wandeln, gilt es auf "COME" zu vernehmen. Christian Mertens, der Schizoman am Mike, unterstützt die kranke Vision des dunklen Jahrtausends in perfekter Manier und setzt seine, schon mal frequenzverzerrten Dark Horror Metal Gesangspassagen exzellent in Szene. Seine langgezogenen Vocals vermitteln einen Old School Vibe, der sich hervorragend an die unterschiedlichen Rhythmussequenzen anzuschmiegen weiß. Auch die beiden Gitarristen Hilton Theissen und Michael Burmann setzen, neben dem atmosphärischen Gedanken, auf eine verstörende Extravaganz aus Euphonie und Kakophonie. Sowohl Gerold Kukulenz melodramatisches Bassspiel, als auch das okkulte Drumming von Gründungsmitglied Christoph Hesse und dem jetzigen Mann hinter der Schießbude Andre Schaltenberg, erzeugen eine divergente, überwiegend dissonante Dramaturgie.

DARK MILLENNIUM verbinden diese analogen Frequenzverzerrungen, die unerwarteten Twists, die bedrückenden Synkopen und die düsteren Horrorvibes zu einem schlüssigen Konzept, das einer pathologischen Selbstreflexion gleicht. Produziert, gemischt und gemastert wurde das 43:22-minütige "COME" von Gitarrist Hilton Theissen himself in seinem Wide Noise Studio zu Arnsberg. DARK MILLENNIUM 6.0 ist gerade für Genre-offene Metalfans eine interessante Scheibe geworden, auf die man sich gedanklich einlassen muss.

The sixth extreme iron "COME" by the German avant-garde black metal band DARK MILLENNIUM explores the physical, metaphysical, and illusory sensory frenzy of altered states of consciousness. The listener is meant to be transported into auditory worlds where they can immerse themselves completely. The result is a progressive, abnormal, and eccentric experimental darkened-down to mid-tempo post-black metal album that, purely from an instrumental perspective, is at times somewhat reminiscent of THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT. The quintet from Bad Fredeburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 1991, explores multifaceted, manically hypnotic dark horror dynamics, yet consistently returns to its experimental core. With their downright ritualistic industrial/doom/sludge sounds, DARK MILLENNIUM create an oppressive, at times downright confusing atmosphere.
"COME" features eight strangely twisted post-black metal tracks that veer between stoic and anguished tones. Christian Mertens, the Schizoman on vocals, perfectly supports the sick vision of the dark millennium and brilliantly showcases his dark horror metal vocal passages, which are at times frequency-distorted. His drawn-out vocals convey an old-school vibe that blends seamlessly with the various rhythmic sequences. The two guitarists, Hilton Theissen and Michael Burmann, also rely on a disturbing extravaganza of euphony and cacophony alongside the atmospheric concept. Both Gerold Kukulenz’s melodramatic bass playing and the occult drumming of founding member Christoph Hesse and the current man behind the kit, Andre Schaltenberg, create a divergent, predominantly dissonant dramaturgy. DARK MILLENNIUM combine these analog frequency distortions, the unexpected twists, the oppressive syncopations, and the dark horror vibes into a coherent concept that resembles a pathological self-reflection. The 43:22-minute "COME" was produced, mixed, and mastered by guitarist Hilton Theissen himself at his Wide Noise Studio in Arnsberg. DARK MILLENNIUM 6.0 has become an interesting album, especially for genre-open metal fans, one that requires a mental commitment to fully engage with.
