In den ersten Zuckungen des Jahres 2026 kommt ein gewaltiger Roadburner auf uns zu! Die California-Dreamboys LIONHEART geben sich zum zweiten Mal im Tal des Todes die Ehre. Groovigen, harten und spaßverbreitenden Hardcore versprüht deren neuntes Powerpack "Valley Of Death II". Ein fast schon erschreckend genial durcharrangiertes Album, innerhalb dessen Reihen einfach alles passt. Die stimmige Up-to-date Performance, des 2007 gegründeten Fünfer-Kollektivs, zwischen Rhythmussektion, schranzigem Gitarrenwerk und der perfekt prononcierten, oralen Umsetzung der Lyrics macht mächtig Laune. Ohnehin sind die Texte mehr als passgenau gesetzt. Wie ein deftiger Uppercut direkt unters Fressbrett! Und nun alle Regler auf Anschlag..., für Oaklands phänomenale Rückkehr ins Tal des Todes!
Mit bockstarken und mitreißenden Refrains, geht LIONHEARTs ambitionierter und abwechslungsreicher Old/New School "bang 'n' jump" Hardcore schwer nach vorne. Ballermaschine Jay Scotts brutal brodelnde Schlagwerksequenzen pumpen den Wust an technischer Finesse voran. Das fleischige und ultraschwere Gitarrenfutter der drei Seitenhexer Nick Warner (g.), Walle Etzel (g.), sowie Richard Mathews (b.), setzt diese übermächtig fetten Beats, die einen direkt mit ihrem Headbangzwang infizieren, arschtigtht in Szene! LIONHEART haben hier mit jedem einzelnen Song einen Volltreffer gelandet! Rob Watsons markant inszeniertes und dadurch enorm pushendes Geshoute, inklusive dem obligatorischen Crowd-Riot-Roaring, setzt hier neue Maßstäbe. Auch die Glanzparaden von Matthew C. Honeycutt (Sänger von KUBLAI KHAN) beim zweiten Track "Chewing Through The Leash", sowie Lead-Gitarrist Kevin Skaff (A DAY TO REMEMBER) beim Rausschmeißer "Death Grip" integrieren sich exzellent in LIONHEARTs musikalischen Background.
Das zehn Tracks umfassende und 23:21 Minuten ballernde "Valley Of Death II" ist ein megacool performtes Album geworden, das mich mit seiner Intensität, seiner Schroffheit und nicht zuletzt seiner Spaßbereitschaft mit der Startrille bei den Eiern gepackt hat. Produziert von Neil Westfall (A DAY TO REMEMBER), sowie einem Mix und Mastering aus den Händen von Florent Salfati (LANDMVRKS) wird dieses drahtige, gestählte, aber auch unglaublich spritzige und energetische Album, einschlagen wie eine Bombe. Da gibt es keine zweite Meinung!!! Im Anschluss an die Veröffentlichung gehen LIONHEART im Januar 2026 gemeinsam mit MADBALL, GIDEON und SLOPE auf Europarundreise. Das wird ein Fest!

In the first throes of 2026, a massive roadburner is coming our way! California dreamboys LIONHEART are gracing the Valley of Death with their presence for the second time. Their ninth powerpack, "Valley Of Death II," unleashes groovy, hard-hitting, and fun-filled hardcore. It's an almost frighteningly ingenious album, where everything just clicks. The cohesive, up-to-date performance of this five-piece collective, formed in 2007, is a pure blast, from the rhythm section and gritty guitar work to the perfectly pronounced, oral delivery of the lyrics. And the lyrics are more than just a perfect fit. Like a solid uppercut right under the chin! So crank up the volume... for Oakland's phenomenal return to the Valley of Death!
With killer and catchy choruses, LIONHEART's ambitious and varied old/new school "bang 'n' jump" hardcore charges ahead with full force. Jay Scott's brutally seething drum sequences propel the onslaught of technical finesse forward. The meaty and ultra-heavy guitar work of the three guitar wizards Nick Warner (g.), Walle Etzel (g.) and Richard Mathews (b.) perfectly complements these overwhelmingly fat beats, which instantly infect you with their headbanging compulsion! LIONHEART have hit the bullseye with every single song! Rob Watson's striking and therefore incredibly driving shouting, including the obligatory crowd-riot roar, sets a new standard. The brilliant performances of Matthew C. Honeycutt (singer of KUBLAI KHAN) on the second track "Chewing Through The Leash", as well as lead guitarist Kevin Skaff (A DAY TO REMEMBER) on the closing track "Death Grip" integrate excellently into LIONHEART's musical background.
The ten-track, 23:21-minute blast of "Valley Of Death II" is a mega-cool, well-performed album that grabbed me by the balls from the very first note with its intensity, its rawness and not least, its sheer fun. Produced by Neil Westfall (A DAY TO REMEMBER) and mixed and mastered by Florent Salfati (LANDMVRKS), this wiry, steely, yet incredibly vibrant and energetic album is going to be a smash hit. There's no doubt about it!!! Following its release, LIONHEART will be touring Europe in January 2026 with MADBALL, GIDEON, and SLOPE. This is going to be a celebration!
